The 2008 Van Nationals were held in Akeley near Buckingham, 15 miles off the M1 junction 13a. There were 90 vehicles on the field and the fun started Thursday night and ran till 5pm Sunday. On the Friday the vanners on site did a cruise to Silverstone race circuit, they looked at some formula one cars that were being made for the Grand Prix the following week, in the evening there was a showing of historic vanning videos in the hall.
Saturday! Most people were up early, getting ready for our 2nd cruise of the weekend to the canal museum at Stoke Bruerne. On Saturday night the licensed bar was open, and there was live music, the band 'Volt Shock' were good and played late into the night.
Sundays show and shine was a great success as you can see from the pictures below. There were lots of trophies and fun was had by all, including Dave Watts who had his hair and beard cut off for Great Ormond Street children hospital. He has raised over £600 at events this year.
